Republicans Nominate Two for Vacant Seats
Father Judge High School Teacher Tim Dailey Tapped for 174th;
Military Veteran Charles Wilkins Selected for 191st
Philadelphia June 19, 2015 –Recently the Speaker of the House called for a Special Election to be held in the 174th and 191st Legislative Districts on August 11, 2015. The local GOP has nominated longtime Father Judge High School teacher Tim Dailey for the 174th and Military Vet Charles Wilkins for the 191st. “Tim Dailey understands the sufferings that families in our neighborhoods go through, from putting children through Catholic School to balancing life as a loving husband and working fulltime in the process. He also understands education better than anyone, having taught High School for two decades,” stated Philly GOP Chairman and State Representative John Taylor (177th). He also acknowledged his excitement about the choice of Charles Wilkins by further stating, “Charles Wilkins represents the type of candidate that we need to help grow our Party. He understands, more than anyone, what it means to fight for what you believe in, having served in the United State Army in Iraq.” Taylor further stated, “We need more people like Tim and Charles to run for elected office; they are the type of people that know the issues in the Commonwealth and I look forward to doubling our Philadelphia Delegation in the Majority Caucus of the PA State House.”
Tim Dailey is a longtime resident of the 174th Legislative District. He is a graduate of Maternity BVM, Archbishop Ryan (where he met his wife Helene Reinsel Dailey), and Holy Family University. He has taught for over two decades in the Philadelphia Archdiocese including the last twenty years at Father Judge High School. He and his wife are the parents of two daughters, Karen, 19, a 2014 graduate of St. Hubert’s and currently a Sophomore, majoring in Pre-Law, at Philadelphia University and Erin, 15, a Sophomore at St. Hubert’s. “Tim believes that a strong commitment to community, education, and family are keystones to government and the people of the 174th District can count on Tim to represent the common man in the Commonwealth.”
Charles Wilkins has spent much of his life in and around the 191st District from graduating from nearby Overbrook High School to living on Cobbs Creek Parkway in Yeadon. He is married to the former Ebony Ross, whom he met in College at Temple University and has one son, Wracce Wilkins, a 13 year old who currently serves in the boy scouts with Troop 63 out of Lansdowne and graduated the youth police academy in Darby. Charles also selflessly put himself on the line for our country serving as Staff Sergeant in the US Army in both an active duty capacity in Iraq and as a reservist at home, where he also doubled as a drug and alcohol counselor and assisted at risk youth in and around the City and a case manager at Crozier Hospital in Chester.
