PHILLY GOP NOMINATES WEST PHILADELPHIA’S MATT WOLFE FOR CITY COUNCIL AT LARGE
City Needs to Change the Way the Game is Played
Philadelphia, PA, March 19, 2014:  Tonight the Philadelphia Republican City Committee met at the United Republican Club, in a meeting that was open to the general public, and unanimously nominated West Philly’s Matt Wolfe as its candidate to fill the City Council at Large seat vacated by SRC Chairman Bill Green.  Wolfe, longtime Ward Leader in University City and former Deputy Attorney General, expressed his vision for growing Philadelphia economically and challenging the electorate to do something different.   Wolfe, in his acceptance speech stated, “I am proud to be the candidate of the Republican Party and proud of the direction that Philadelphia Republican Party has been taking in recent months.”  His nomination, which was put forth by Roxborough/Manayunk Ward Leader Walt Vogler and seconded by Rhawnhurst’s Al Taubenberger and Mayfair’s Joe DeFelice, was widely anticipated.  Upon the nomination, the Philly GOP immediately Tweeted the following photo:
