Matt Wolfe to Announce Candidacy for City Council At Large

For Immediate Release

Matthew Wolfe will announce his candidacy for City Council at Large on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 12:30 P.M. at Millcreek Tavern, 4200 Chester Avenue in West Philadelphia.  The Special Election for the seat to replace Bill Green will take place at the same time as the primary election on May 20.
Wolfe is making the announcement in West Philadelphia because it is his home and where he has been active in politics and as a community activist for many years.  West Philadelphia also demonstrates how growth is occurring in the city in spite of our high taxes and irrational tax structure.  The universities and hospitals have invested millions into new buildings.  On a smaller scale, residential projects from new rowhouses to apartment houses have sprung up in response to increased demand.  With better leadership in City Hall this could be replicated across the city.
Wolfe also plans to talk about his vision for the city and for city government.  He will also talk about his opposition to the City Charter Amendment to eliminate the resign to run provision , which is on the ballot the same day as the special election for City Council.  He believes that it is bad public policy and emblematic of what is wrong with City Council.

*This is not an endorsement, rather we are passing on information until the Party takes an official position and nominates a candidate.
