Republicans Pick Tim Dailey in 5th Senate Special Election
Father Judge High School Teacher Looks to Return the Seat to GOP Control after 15 Years and Bolster Statewide Seats to 31.

Philadelphia April 16, 2015 –Recently the Lt. Governor called for a Special Election to be held in the 5th Senatorial District on May 19, 2015 to coincide  with the Municipal Primary Election.   The local GOP has nominated longtime Father Judge High School teacher Tim Dailey to fill the seat.  “Tim understands what it is like to be a husband and parent and the struggles of putting children through Catholic School.  His commitment to education is unparalleled; serving as a High School English and History teacher for over 20 years. ”stated Philly GOP Chairman and State Representative John Taylor (177th).  He further stated, “We need more people like Tim to step up and run for elected office; he is the type of person that understands the issues in the Commonwealth and I look forward to having an ally from Philadelphia in the Majority Caucus in the PA State Senate.”


                Tim Dailey is a lifelong resident of the 5th Senatorial District.  He is a graduate of Maternity BVM, Archbishop Ryan (where he met his wife Helene Reinsel Dailey), and Holy Family University.   He has taught for over two decades in the Philadelphia Archdiocese including the last twenty years at Father Judge High School.  He and his wife are the parents of two daughters, Karen, 19, a 2014 graduate of St. Hubert’s and currently a Freshman, majoring in Pre-Law, at Philadelphia University and Erin, 15, a Freshman at St. Hubert’s.  “Tim believes that a strong commitment to community, education, and family are keystones to government and, when elected, the people of the 5th Senatorial District can count on to represent the Common Man in the Commonwealth.” stated Philly GOP Executive Director Joe DeFelice.   You can find Tim on Facebook and Twitter at VoteDailey2015.   If you would like to find out more about the candidate or want to get involved in his race, please contact the Philadelphia Republican Party at 215-561-0650.
