A Nutter Crushing Blow to the Taxpayers
In Expansion of Big Government

Philadelphia March 4, 2015 –Less than two hours ago we issued a press release decrying the Wolf Administration and City Council for their burdensome regulations and taxes to crush business and, lo and behold, here comes Michael Nutter with his hand up saying “Me too.”

Today, the Mayor introduced his proposed budget with an almost 10% increase in property taxes[i].  This game of bait and switch between Wolf, City Council and Mayor Nutter lowers wage tax by .5% but increases State Income Tax by 20% and Philadelphia Property Tax by almost 10% thereby guaranteeing that more money will flow out of the pocketbooks and wallets of taxpayers in exchange for larger government, both at the State and Local level.

Philadelphia has the one of the highest tax burdens of any large City in the Country and it appears that that they don’t want to lose that high ranking.  While many millennials are flocking to Cities in the hope celebrating an urban lifestyle, Philadelphia Democrats are trying their hardest to stop them at the front door by rolling up the welcome mat.
